A Note of Thanks
I would first like to thank my fellow colleagues for all the responses to my blog and for sharing such great information in your blog post as well as discussion post. I wish you all the best in your upcoming classes.
When I Think of Research
When I first started this course I have to admit my thoughts of research were not that positive, mostly because I did not know there was a method to reading research information, and reading through pages of data was just not that appealing. I am happy to say that after taking this course I approach research information with a more positive view and am a little proud that reading research is not a challenge for me and that I have added a new skill to my professional growth. Through out this course I have learned that research requires extensive work before the researcher even begins to conduct the research itself; from planning to design to data collecting procedures, the researchers job must be thoroughly planned out in advanced.
Tiffany- I know what you mean, and I too am glad to have taken this class. I have learned so much about research and I am also glad to add this to things I know about the early childhood field. I am glad we got to spend these last 8 weeks together and I hope to see you in some other classes, if not good luck with everything.
ReplyDeleteTiffany,
ReplyDeleteI agree...research was very scary to me prior to this class. Now, like you, I am more comfortable reading research and I have a much better understanding of the design process.
Good luck and maybe we will have class together again!
Hello Tiffany,
ReplyDeleteI had same view as you prior to taking this course. I used to be scared of research and I have found researching boring and unorganised. I agree this course has given me a systematic and modular approach to researching.
Thanks for your contribution in the past 8 weeks. I wish you the best in your future endeavours.
Regards,
Research can be overwhelming and scary at first. I had very similar feelings prior to beginning my first research class. I am happy to hear that you did not let these feelings get the best of you. It sounds as if we had similar experiences. I too feel as though this course did an excellent job of allowing me to better understand the basis of research and its relation in working with children and families.
ReplyDeleteHi Tiffany,
ReplyDeleteI had the same feelings about research before taking this class. I dreaded the thought of reading research articles assuming that they would be long, boring, and filled with technical terms I would not understand. This class has most definitely helped me to view research differently. I was happy to learn that we could choose a topic of interest to use in our simulation. It made the process much more enjoyable.
Thank you for comments you posted to my blog and discussions. Best wishes as you move forward in your educational journey! Hope we have the opportunity to have future courses together.
Tiffany, it has been a great pleasure having you in Group 1. I agree this class has really helped me in learning about research and was very challenging. Enjoyed reading your posts and discussion and wish you the best in your next class.

Tiffany, I felt a little like you in the beginning. We all know that research is a lot to handle and it takes a lot of reading to understand what it is that you are supposed to be doing. I have learned a lot from the course. I have enjoyed reading your responses to discussions and your blog. I will not be in the next class because I have to take a summer break.
