- The early childhood field globally is striving to combat the same types of issues, ex: poverty, teacher qualifications, equity.
- There is valuable information that each nation has to offer each other that can be used to combat some of the issues that each nation is experiencing.
- Many voices contributing to the early childhood field can help bring about the changes that are much needed.
One goal for the field related to international awareness:
- My goal is to continually read articles related to interantional early education matters as well as view international website such as the UNESCO so that I may stay up to date with the issues and trends within the early childhood field.
Hi Tiffany,
ReplyDeleteI agree that the national early childhood issues we are addressing and trying to eradicate are global issues as well. Staying current on issues and trends through exploring national and international websites and articles, as well as communicating with early childhood professionals here in the United States and internationally is extremely important if we are to effect a positive change. Best wishes in your educational journey and future endeavors.
Hi Tiffany,
ReplyDeleteAs professionals it is important to stay on top of issues and trends affecting effecting children. I agree that this should be done close to home as well as abroad. I wish you much luck as you continue your professional journey. I have enjoyed reading your blogs...thanks for sharing!
That is a must, keeping up with the latest important information when it relates to education as well as issues and trends that are causing harm to our children and families. I wish you the best in your future endeavors..
ReplyDeleteYou're right that each nation has valuable information! Sometimes I think we value ourselves too highly as Americans and could benefit from looking at some other educational views and implement things differently.
ReplyDeleteSharing of early childhood information across borders is so key. Have you noticed that Australia is ahead of the US by leaps and bounds in the early childhood field? I began looking to Australia years ago for information and research findings. We are fools to think that only info sourced from US origins is worthwhile. The world is our community, and we can teach and learn together.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with Lisa, collaborating with international ECE professionals is vital to eliminating the barriers young children and their families face from current issues. I too, will remain up to date with what is going on within the World Forum in regards to early childhood development and learning.
